One-week-old Bollywood movie "Housefull 3" has shown massive growth at the Indian box office on its second Saturday, taking its nine-day collection closer to the Rs. 100 crore mark.
"Housefull 3" collected Rs. 80.10 crore at the Indian box office in its opening week. Trade experts predicted that new releases "Te3n" and "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" would force it to vacate from a large number of cinema halls in the domestic market in its second week and that would affect its business.
As predicted, "Te3n" and "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" took a toll on the collection of "Housefull 3" this Friday. The Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh-starrer showed over 75 percent drop when compared to its opening day collection. The movie collected Rs. 3.50 crore at the box office on its second Friday.
But "Te3n" and "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" received mixed talks from the audience and the Sajid-Farhad-directed comedy movie once again became the first choice for several film goers across the country. "Housefull 3" witnessed a big leap and collected Rs. 5.05 crore at the box office on its second Saturday.
Leading trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Housefull3 showed 44.29% growth on 2nd Sat... Like its performance in the opening weekend, the biz should jump yet again on Sun..." He added, "#Housefull3 [Week 2] Fri 3.50 cr, Sat 5.05 cr. Total: ₹ 88.65 cr. India biz... Is nearing the ₹ 100 cr mark... #HF3"
"Housefull 3" has so far collected a total of Rs. 88.65 crore nett at the box office in nine days. Early trends show that the movie is faring better at the ticket counters on its second Sunday than Saturday and it is expected to collect over 5.50 crore. The movie is likely to surpass the Rs. 100 crore mark in the domestic market by the end of its second week.
