Sajid-Farhad's directorial "Housefull 3" has emerged as the second biggest opener of 2016 at the domestic box office. Not only that, "Housefull 3" also shattered the records of Akshay Kumar's previous films and became the second biggest opener for the actor.
"Housefull 3" opened with mixed to negative reviews from the critics, but the film managed to enthral moviegoers. The film opened with the second best occupancy this year, after Shah Rukh Khan's "Fan" and thus recorded the second best opening of Rs. 15.21 crore.

"Housefull 3," which was released in 3,700 screens on a non-holiday Friday, has shattered the records of "Airlift," "Baaghi" and other big releases of this year. The opening day box office collection of "Housefull 3" is the second highest ever for Akshay. "Housefull 3" shattered the records of his 2012 release "Rowdy Rathore," which had held the record of the second biggest opener with Rs. 15.10 crore first day income.
Now that the film has recorded a good opening, all eyes are set on its opening weekend box office. And the second-day occupancy report suggests that the film is set for a Rs. 50 + crore opening weekend.
