"Highway" started its theatrical run on box office road last Friday, but on the other hand Salman Khan's "Jai Ho" has finished its run.
With the release of "Highway" in India and overseas, the box office run of "Jai Ho" has come to an end.
Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda starrer "Highway" has received good response from audiences. The Bollywood drama film is holding up quite well during the weekdays witnessing only 20 to 30 percent drop in its earnings.
On its fifth day at box office, Imtiaz Ali's directorial film raked in ₹2 crore. During weekdays, most of the films see huge drop in their earnings, but "Highway" has maintained a steady speed at the box office.
The five day domestic total of Alia- Randeep starrer now stands at ₹18.23 crore.
"#Highway Fri 3.42 cr, Sat 4.82 cr, Sun 5.75 cr, Mon 2.24 cr, Tue 2 cr. Total: ₹ 18.23 cr nett. India biz only," trade analyst Taran Adarsh said.
The film will have a decent week, but the main challenge for "Highway" is to survive at the box office in second week after the release of "Shaddi Ke Side Effects."
Meanwhile, Salman and Daisy Shah starrer "Jai Ho" has finished its box office run in India. Its total collection in the country and overseas is lower than expected.
The film has finished its lifetime total with around ₹116 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama. The lifetime collection of "Jai Ho" is in the same range as "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" which was released in 2013.
