"Heropanti" which is the debut film of Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon has opened with good collections at the domestic box office. The business of the film is very good considering that it stars new comers.
Also, the film directed by Sabbir Khan was released in around 2000 screens in India. The masala entertainer has accumulated ₹6.63 crore on its day one.
"#Heropanti has a ROCKING start. Fri ₹ 6.58 cr nett. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, adding "#Heropanti *revised figure* Fri ₹ 6.63 cr nett. India biz. Very good!"
The ₹6.58 crore is the fifth highest opening day collection for films released in 2014.
The film had witnessed good occupancy in north circuits and had raked in the highest amounts from those circuits. Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Bihar circuits had performed exceptionally well.
The film which is mostly targeted at multiplexes registered good occupancy in Mumbai also. In north, the film gave tough competition to the Hindi version of Rajinikanth's magnum opus film "Kochadaiiyaan."
But in south, "Heropanti" had to struggle due to two big films in Tamil and Telugu starring superstars of South film industry.
Telugu film "Manam" and Tamil film "Kochadaiiyaan" had given competition to "Heropanti" because of which the south collection of the film was low.
But overall, the film starring newcomers had very good opening day collections.
The film has to hold well on Saturday to sail smoothly at the box office. On Sunday, the film will witness growth due to holiday.
Meanwhile, the Hollywood film "X Men: Days of Future Past" has also received positive response. The combine total of the English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions of the film is around ₹5.10 crore.
"#XMen Days Of Future Past takes a rocking start. Thu previews 60 lacs, Fri 4.50 cr. Total: ₹ 5.10 cr nett [English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu]," Adarsh tweeted.
The opening day total of the film is bit lower than "Skyfall", "Mission impossible 4" and "The Dark Knight Rises", but the film managed to pull in crowds despite several big releases in India.
"Kochadaiiyaan" and "Manam" has not only affected "Heropanti" in south, but also "X Men: Days of Future Past". But the film is expected to pick up its pace at the box office during the weekend and to rake in decent amount.
The superhero film which is based on fictional X-Men characters is directed by Bryan Singer. The film features Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry and others in important roles.
