"Hasee Toh Phasee" has fared well in its first week at the domestic box office, while "Jai Ho" collections dropped by 80 percent in its third week.
Hasee Toh Phasee
The first week theatrical run of the Sidharth Malhotra-Parineeti Chopra starrer romantic comedy has been decent with total earnings of around ₹28.3 crore. The film held well during weekdays with just a marginal drop as expected.
"#HaseeTohPhasee [1st Week] India ₹ 28.3 cr nett. Very good,' trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The romantic comedy, directed by Vinil Mathew, dominated the market in its first week. The collections are decent enough as the film has earned the production cost of ₹25 crore.
The second week income of "HTP" would decline as "Gunday" has released this Friday. "Gunday", which features Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, has registered a strong occupancy in the morning shows.
Meanwhile, the rom-com will head for around ₹35 crore lifetime total, which will be above average for a film like "Hasee Toh Phasee".
Jai Ho
Salman Khan starrer "Jai Ho" finished its third week at domestic box office with disappointing figures.
In its third week, the political drama managed to rake in only ₹4 crore approximately, taking its overall total to ₹115 crore.
The collections of "Jai Ho" had dropped drastically after the release of "Hasee Toh Phasee" and, now with the arrival of "Gunday", "Jai Ho" will be struggling for screens in theaters across the country.
