Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra starrer "Hasee Toh Phasee" had a decent second week box office run in the country.
The romantic comedy has scored in around ₹7.5 to ₹8 crore in its second week from the Indian markets. The first and second week total of the film now stands at around ₹36 crore.
In its first week, "Hasee Toh Phasee" raked in ₹28.3 crore, despite having a slow start, and in second weekend it minted ₹5.11 crore.
"#HaseeTohPhasee [1st Week] India ₹ 28.3 cr nett. Very good! #HaseeTohPhasee [Wknd 2] Fri 1.45 cr, Sat 1.60 cr, Sun 2.06 cr. Total: ₹ 5.11 cr. Grand total: ₹ 33 cr+ nett. Rock-steady," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
The business of "Hasee Toh Phasee" was affected by the release of "Gunday" in its second week. The collections will further drop in its third week due to the release of "Highway".
"Hasee Toh Phasee", directed by Vinil Mathew, has registered the third highest collections (till now) this year, after "Jai Ho" and "Gunday".
However, trade analysts feel that the film could have scored well if it had better music.
"Even though it was the only film with known faces, and with prestigious banners to back it, Hasee Toh Phasee did not meet expectations," trade expert Vinod Mirani told Financial Express.
"Hasee Toh Phasee had nothing to offer to the single screen audience, and the initial response from the youth and at the multiplexes was tepid, with a slight rise in Saturday collections, which further peaked on Sunday."
Meanwhile, Salman Khan's "Jai Ho" has finished its four-week box office run on Thursday. The political drama's run will stop since "Highway" and other films have released this week.
