Indra Kumar's directorial film "Grand Masti" took the top spot at domestic box office in "Adults" genre, after collecting more than ₹84 crore from less than 2000 screens.
The breakup of the film is: first week ₹67.40 crore, second weekend ₹12.65 crore, second Monday ₹2.15 crore and Tuesday ₹1.85 crore.
The Adult comedy film's impressive box office performance has come out as a surprise for the industry people. Now, it has become the highest grossing film ever that has an 'Adult' rating tag, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
"Grand Masti" broke the opening day and first weekend record in adult genre when it debuted on silver screen. Produced by Maruti International, the film starring Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh is continuing its fantastic run, marking a major victory for the cast, director and makers of the film.
The two lead actors of the film Vivek and Aftab were in much need of a box office hit after going through a bad phase of career in film industry.
"Grand Masti" has surpassed the lifetime total of films like "The Dirty Picture", "Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum" and "Delhi Belly" among others.
