Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi starrer "Ghanchakkar" has bombed at the overseas box office.
The comedy thriller has been a non-performer in the international market, except for UAE-GCC circuits, trade analyst Taran Adrash tweeted.
The film mustered up ₹6.38 crore after 10 days of its release abroad.
The second weekend country wise breakup of the film is: UK ₹10.77 lakh (£ 11,982) from 17 screens, US ₹8.80 lakh ($ 14,627) from 30 screens, Australia ₹3.06 lakh (A$ 5,586) from 14 screens and New Zealand ₹17, 903 (NZ$ 381) from seven screens.
"Ghanchakkar" performed well in UAE-GCC circuits, where it minted a total of ₹2.86 crores in 10 days.
The disappointing story-line, half-baked characters and major competition from regional films were responsible for film's failure at the box office.
"Vidya Balan, in The Dirty Picture kept saying filmein teen cheezoon se chalti hai - entertainment, entertainment and entertainment, butGhanchakkar has anything but entertainment! While the thin storyline makes the viewers restless, the film is also very lengthy and there are no interesting moments," trade analyst Amod Mehra said, according to Indian Express.
Punjabi film "Jatt and Juliet 2" served as major competition for "Ghanchakkar" at the UK, Australian and New Zealand box offices.
"Punjabi film #JattandJuliet2 is on a record-smashing spree in the international arena. This one's a BLOCKBUSTER. It continues to shatter previous records and set new ones in the international arena," Adarsh said.
The film after its second weekend earned a total of ₹4.04 crore from the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
