The film which revolves around a female detective, played by Balan, has received positive reviews from critics mainly for her performance. "Bobby Jasoos" is expected to pick up during weekends due to positive word of mouth. However, the overall total would be low due to the number of screen count.
The other film "Lekar Hum Deewana Dil," released along with "Bobby Jasoos" opened on a very bad note. The film which stars Raj Kapoor's grandson Armaan Jain failed to attract audiences on the opening day itself.
Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Shraddha Kapoor starrer "Ek Villain" had a fantastic second Friday. The action thriller directed by Mohit Suri raked in ₹4.30 crore, taking its overall eight days total to ₹81.50 crore.

The film is expected to dominate the box office in its second week also, as the new releases have opened on a very dull note.
"Ek Villain" is still going strong in several circuits across India. With 1,700 screens and 5400 shows per day it is expected to cross the ₹100 mark within second week.
Meanwhile, Malhotra is excited that his film is getting good response at the box office.
"It made money and I took myself up one notch as an actor. The idea is to be different with every film and I'm glad my mother and my brother who were sitting besides me during the screening of 'Ek Villain' forget it was me on screen after the first 15 minutes," Malhotra told The Times of India.
