Check out the box office collection reports of "Bobby Jasoos", "Lekar Hum Deewana Dil" and "Ek Villain".
Bobby Jasoos
Vidya Balan starrer "Bobby Jasoos", which opened on a dull note, picked up on the second day at the Indian box office.
The comedy drama received decent reviews from critics but they did not help the film in performing well on the first day of its release. The film minted slightly over ₹1.7 crore on Friday but witnessed some growth on Saturday, by raking in more than ₹2.2 crore, according to Koimoi. Its two-day collections now stand at over ₹4 crore.
Though the film noticed some growth on the second day, its performance has been average, considering the Vidya starrer released in more than 1,000 screens. The film has fared better in multiplexes, compared to single screens.
Now, it remains to be seen as to how the comedy entertainer performs on Sunday. Nevertheless, the film is expected to end its first weekend on an average note.
Lekar Hum Deewana Dil
Armaan Jain and Deeksha Seth's "Lekar Hum Deewana Dil" started on a poor note on the first day of its release, by minting just ₹50 lakh. The romantic entertainer did not witness much growth on the second day as well and managed to collect only ₹55 lakh on Saturday, reported Koimoi.
Despite having released in more number of screens than "Bobby Jasoss", the film failed to pull in crowds to the theatres.
The Armaan starrer received mixed reviews from critics (mostly negative) upon its release. The film seems to have failed to impress the audience as well, as it did not see any growth in its business on the second day. If it continues to underperform in this fashion on Sunday too, the romantic entertainer is likely to end the opening weekend on a poor note.
Ek Villain
Sidharth Malhotra-Riteish Deshmukh-Shraddha Kapoor starrer "Ek Villain" continues to rock the domestic box office.
The film dominated over new releases in its second weekend (Friday and Saturday). The romantic thriller has reportedly earned over ₹5 crore on the 9th day (Saturday), which is higher than the combined collections of the new releases.
"Ek Villain", which opened to fantastic reviews from critics, has also received a big thumbs up from the viewers. Its total nine day collections amount to more than ₹80 crore, and the film is now fast approaching the ₹100 crore mark at the Indian box office.
"Ek Villain" is expected to continue its good run for at least one more week, till new films make it to the theatres.
Apart from these films, Akshay Kumar's "Holiday - A Soldier is Never Off Duty" and Sajid Khan's "Humshakals" are still running in theatres. While "Holiday" has surpassed the ₹100 crore mark, "Humshakals" earned more than ₹60 crore at the Indian box office.
