Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer "Drishyam" and Hollywood film "Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation" dominated the box office this week over Riteish Deshmukh and Pulkit Samrat starrer "Bangistan".
"Drishyam" VS "Bangistan"
Ajay-Tabu starrer thriller drama minted approximately Rs 2.75 crore on its second Friday, which is higher than the opening day box office collection of "Bangistan".
Riteish-Pulkit starrer "Bangistan" opened to a poor response on first Friday, which paved way for "Drishyam". Since "Drishyam" has received positive reviews, it continues to hold well at the box office despite several big releases.
"Drishyam" minted approximately Rs 2.75 crore on its second Friday, while "Bangistan" minted Rs 1.05 crore on its first day.
" #Drishyam: Rs 2.75 crores on Friday making a total of Rs 49.03 Crore in 8 days," trade analyst Joginder Tuteja tweeted.
Ajay-Tabu starrer will continue to draw the audience towards it in its second weekend, while there is no expectation from "Bangistan" to do well at the box office.
"Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation"
Again, a Hollywood movie dominated Indian box offices. When a big Hollywood movie makes an entry in India, it generally takes over the market. So, when Christopher McQuarrie directorial film "Mission Impossible" released in India along with "Bangistan", it took over the market with more than Rs 7 crore first day income, according to Koimoi.com.
The fifth installment film in the "Mission Impossible" series features Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Sean Harris and Alec Baldwin in prominent roles.
