Puneeth Rajkumar's Dodmane Huduga and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story have clashed at the Bengaluru box office. Both the films have generated a fantastic pre-release buzz and have opened well at the collection centres.
Dodmane Huduga has been released in over 270 screens in Karnataka and it is witnessing a record 250 shows in the Garden City. The advance booking has met with stupendous response and the early reports indicate that the flick is set to register over 75 percent occupancy on the first day in Bengaluru.
The Kannada movie is written and directed by Suri, who had earlier teamed up with Puneeth Rajkumar in Jackie and Anna Bond. It is an action thriller which also has Ambareesh, Sumalatha, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and others in the cast.
On the other hand, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has drawn the people's attention as it is the biopic of India's one of the most successful captains Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The film is having above 300 shows on the release day and like Dodmane Huduga it is witnessing over 75 percent occupancy in Bengaluru.
The trade experts say that the theatres owners' refusal to screen Tamil films due to the Cauvery row has turned out to be a big advantage for both the films as it got maximum number of screens for its releases.
It has to be noted that both the films have opened to positive reviews.
