Hollywood movie "The Conjuring 2" and Bollywood's "Te3n" registered a good opening weekend box office run, but "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" failed to show growth.
Out of all the three movies released on Friday, horror movie "The Conjuring 2" had a good growth and decent opening weekend. The film earned Rs. 19.80 crore in the first three days at the Indian box office. The three-day total includes collection from the English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.
"#TheConjuring2 Fri 5.25 cr, Sat 6.90 cr, Sun 7.60 cr. Total: ₹ 19.80 cr nett. India biz. English+Hindi+Tamil+Telugu versions. VERY GOOD!" trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Bollywood film "Te3n," starring Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vidya Balan, minted Rs. 11.13 crore in its opening weekend at the domestic box office, while the overseas collection stands at Rs. 4.69 crore. The worldwide opening weekend box office collection of "Te3n" has helped the film to put up a good three-day total, but the film needs to maintain a stronghold to survive at the box office.
"#TE3N picked up with each passing day... Fri 2.62 cr, Sat 3.96 cr, Sun 4.55 cr. Total: ₹ 11.13 cr. India biz... Overseas total: ₹ 4.69 cr," trade analyst Adarsh tweeted.
On the other hand, Randeep Hooda and Kajal Aggarwal-starrer "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" had a poor opening and the film failed to show any growth at the box office in the next two days. The romantic film hardly showed any improvement in its collection over the weekend.
"#DoLafzonKiKahani Fri 1.03 cr, Sat 1.26 cr, Sun 1.45 cr. Total: ₹ 3.74 cr. India biz," Adarsh tweeted.
Like the weekend, "The Conjuring 2" is expected to dominate over "Te3n" and "Do Lafzon Ki Kahani" in their first-week run.
