Venkat Prabhu's Chennai 600028: 2nd Innings continues to perform well at the Chennai box office despite the effect of the Vardah Cyclone last week. The new release, Veera Sivaji, also did not have a big impact on the business of the sports film.
In the second weekend, Chennai 600028: 2nd Innings raked in Rs 93.86 lakh from 234 shows. The 10-day collection of the movie stands at Rs 3.21 crore.
In the opening weekend, Veera Sivaji earned Rs 51.75 lakh from 186 shows. It is considered a good opening for a film starring Vikram Prabhu. The movie has not got favourable reviews and it has to be seen how the film performs in the next few days.
Hollywood film Rogue One is off to a good start in Chennai, and the movie collected Rs 25.42 lakh from 90 shows. Hacksaw Ridge, another English film, made a decent beginning by making Rs 11.22 lakh from 60 shows.
Vijay Antony's Saithan entered its third weekend by earning Rs 9.18 lakh from 63 shows. The total collection of the movie stands at Rs 2.57 crore.
The collections of Telugu movie Dhruva dipped a lot in its second weekend. After earning Rs 22.07 lakh from 102 shows in the first weekend, it collected only Rs 6.38 lakh from 39 shows to take its 10-day total to Rs 39.67 lakh.
