Bipasha Basu's horror erotica "Alone" is set to clash at the box office with Vikram's "I" on Friday. But Bipasha's film is set to dominate the box office this week.
"Alone" featuring Bipasha and Karan Singh Grover in the lead roles is a horror film. Horror films usually find limited audience, but "Alone" is expected to have a good occupancy on opening day.
The pre-release buzz of the film is positive, and the trailer and music have garnered rave reviews from critics. The songs, especially "Katra Katra", have topped the charts in India.
Even Karan and Bipasha's sizzling chemistry on-screen has created a lot of noise before its release.
Keeping in mind all the factors, the horror film is expected to register occupancy of around 30 to 40 percent on opening day. The film is helmed by Bhushan Patel, who has previously directed "Ragini MMS" "Ragini MMS 2", "1920" and "1920 Evil Returns."
Overall, "Alone" will have a decent start on day one and its business is expected to increase with word of mouth over the weekend.
The second big film releasing this week is Tamil movie "I" directed by Shankar. The Tamil romantic drama has been dubbed in Hindi, and Vikram even promoted it on "Bigg Boss 8" with Salman Khan.
The film also features "Bigg Boss 8" contestant Upen Patel in an important role. But the film might not do well at theaters except for South India, as it was not aggressively promoted in other areas.
However, in South "I" will dominate the box office over "Alone" at the box office.
The trailer and songs of both the films have created wonders before its release, but it remains to be seen whether the reviews will work in the favour of the film.
