"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", a tribute to Indian athlete Milkha Singh, continues to dominate theatres in India even its third week.
The sports biopic in its third week made a business of more than ₹16 crore, which takes the overall collections of the film to over ₹96 crore.
Even though the third week earnings have seen a considerable fall from the opening day and second week, it still managed to earn a whopping ₹16 crore in the third week.
"BMB" raked in ₹53.74 crore in first, ₹26.05 crore in second and around ₹16 crore in the third week from domestic box office.
The film will likely join the ₹100 crore club in its fourth weekend. It is falling short of just ₹4 crore to reach the mark.
"#BhaagMilkhaBhaag is fast racing towards the ₹100 crore mark. Overall, Super Hit [Blockbuster in North circuits]," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
This week, no big films have hit the screen, allowing "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" to continue its dream run in the market. Also, tax exemption in more than five states is helping the collections of the film.
The Farhan Akhtar-Sonam Kapoor starrer has been declared tax-free in six states, including Delhi, Maharashtra, Goa, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and now Uttar Pradesh.
The film had no competition from any films in the past two weeks. Before the release of the big-budget and much-anticipated film "Chennai Express", the Farhan starrer will complete its fourth week of theatrical run at the box office.
