With no great films in the last two weeks, Bollywood flick "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" continues to lead the domestic box office charts.
The sports biopic, which is running in its fourth week, is set for another high weekend collection record. The Farhan Akhtar starrer, which is based on the real-life story of Indian athlete Milkha Singh, has fetched around ₹1 crore on its fourth Friday of theatrical run in India.
All the films which were released last week including "B.A. Pass", "Calapor", "Chhatrapati Shivaji", "Chor Chor Super Chor", "Love In Bombay" and "Rabba Main Kya Karoon" had poor openings at collection centres, giving "Bhag Milkha Bhaag" a chance to dominate the market. The film, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, is continuing its marvelous run in Indian markets.
The film is set to cross the ₹100 crore mark in the country on Sunday. Till its third week, the film has made a collection of more than ₹96 crore.
"#BhaagMilkhaBhaag should touch/cross 100 cr mark tonite/tomorrow. Third 100 cr grosser of 2013, after #YehJawaaniHaiDeewani and #Race2," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
"Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" fetched ₹53.74 crore in the first week, ₹26.05 crore in the second and more than ₹16 crore in the following week. It is expected to rake in approximately ₹7 core - ₹8 crore in its fourth week.
This will be Farhan's first film as an actor that will hit the century mark. Earlier, his directorial film "Don" starring Shah Rukh Khan had made ₹100 crore.
Also, "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" will become the third film to gross ₹100 crore after "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Race 2".
