Sanjay Leela Bhansali's historical drama "Bajirao Mastani" had a phenomenal first week run at the domestic box office. The film, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, earned Rs 86.15 crore, which is the 10th highest box office income of 2015.
"Bajirao Mastani" is running steadily at the box office, thanks to the positive reviews and word of mouth. During the weekend, Shah Rukh Khan's "Dilwale" overshadowed the film, but "Bajirao Mastani" took the lead during weekdays. The weekdays box office collection of "Bajirao Mastani" is higher than "Dilwale".
"Bajirao Mastani" minted Rs 46.77 crore over the weekend and Rs 39.38 crore during weekdays, while "Dilwale" minted Rs 65.09 crore in the first three days and Rs 37.56 crore in the next four days. The first week box office collection of "Bajirao Mastani" is the fourth highest after "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" and "Dilwale".

After a good first week run, the film is expected to dominate the box office in its second week. The second weekend box office collection of "Bajirao Mastani" will be good since it is a long holiday weekend. "Bajirao Mastani" might also enter the Rs 100 crore club in India, if the second weekend collection remains strong.
