SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 continued to rule the Chennai box office for the fourth consecutive weekend. It is a rare feat for a movie to top the box office charts for close to a month. SS Rajamouli's film has outdone movies like Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae and Half Girlfriend.
In its fourth weekend, Baahubali 2 minted Rs 1.31 crore from 372 shows, according to Behindwoods. The movie enjoyed good viewership on Saturday and Sunday. It minted Rs 3.24 crore from 828 shows, Rs 2.73 crore from 777 shows and Rs 1.82 crore from 501 shows in the first, second and third weekends, respectively.
The total collection of Baahubali 2 stands at Rs 15.55 crore till date in Chennai. With no big movies around, the Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer is expected to rule for the next seven days in theatres.
Jiiva's Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae, which opened to fairly positive reviews, got an above-average opening at the Chennai box office. It collected Rs 55.40 lakh from 186 shows.
Udhaynidhi Stalin's Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen earned Rs 24.52 lakh from 159 shows in its second weekend. The total collection of the Tamil film stands at Rs 92.04 lakh.
Hindi movie Half Girlfriend got a decent start in Chennai by raking in Rs 23.68 lakh from 87 shows in its first weekend. On the other hand, the previous-week release Lens, which opened to highly positive reviews, failed to pull viewers in big numbers. It collected Rs 2.61 lakh from 21 shows to take its total tally to Rs 7.50 lakh in Chennai.
Yeidhavan failed to witness any growth in its second weekend. It collected less than Rs 1 lakh to take its total collection to Rs 11.75 lakh in 10 days.
