Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor's latest outing "Baaghi" is creating a stir at the box office. The film has grossed Rs. 100 crore from Indian markets.
"Baaghi," directed by Sabbir Khan, has had a successful box office run, until now. In 12 days, the action romantic drama minted Rs. 70.22 crore net (Gross Rs. 100.31 crore). The 12-day box office collection of "Baaghi" is close to "Kapoor and Sons" lifetime earnings of Rs. 73.28 crore. By its 15th day, the film will overtake "Kapoor and Sons" at the domestic box office.
"#Baaghi crosses ₹ 70 cr mark... [Week 2] Fri 2.31 cr, Sat 2.43 cr, Sun 3.17 cr, Mon 1.38 cr, Tue 1.21 cr. Total: ₹ 70.22 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Since "Baaghi" is dominating the box office in its second week, the film should have a good two-week run. "Baaghi" is aiming to beat the lifetime collection record of Sonam Kapoor's "Neerja" and it should surpass the business of the movie before finishing its third-weekend run.
Meanwhile, after the success of "Baaghi," the makers have already planned a sequel and decided to start shooting for the film next year. The producer of the film Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed the news and said that the second part will be shot in Shanghai.
"Yes, it's true. It's been a great experience working with Sabbir, Tiger & Shraddha and the story of Baaghi needs to be taken ahead. We plan on commencing the shoot in Shanghai in 2017," Sajid said in a statement.
"It was a great experience shooting with Sajid Bhai and I'm very excited to start work on Baaghi 2. As a producer, sajid bhai stays in the backdrop and yet he lets his director achieve everything that you imagine. If something is needed for the betterment of a project, he will ensure it is made available," director Sabbir said.
