Trade analysts are positive that Akshay Kumar-starrer "Housefull 3" will emerge as one of the biggest hits of this year at the box office. Earlier, trade experts said that the comedy-drama will record the second highest opening day collection and now analysts are hoping that the opening weekend collection will be more than Rs. 50 crore.
Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Fan" holds the record for this year's biggest opening weekend grosser. "Fan" minted Rs. 52.35 crore in its opening weekend and if "Housefull 3" holds a good occupancy then it might shatter the record of Shah Rukh's film.
"I think it should certainly make about Rs 45-50 crore over the weekend, that's what we all are hoping for. It has a solid ensemble cast, it has music that is peppy, a fun story line, it is a film for the universal audience, so all that and the fact that no other film is doing well and has substantial shows at the cinemas, so I guess it will quite easily collect about 40-50 crore over the weekend," Akshaye Rathi, exhibitor and distributor, told BollywoodLife.com.
The film has already created a positive buzz and since it is the first big release after the Indian Premier League (IPL) concluded on May 29, it is expected to open with good figures at the box office. Also, "Housefull 3" is the third instalment film in one of the biggest comedy franchises, which will help make the film a winner at the box office.
Starring Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez Abhishek Bachchan, Nargis Fakhri and Lisa Haydon, "Housefull 3" is slated to release in 3,700 screens in India and 670 screens overseas. Directed by Sajid-Farhad, the film also features Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff and Chunky Pandey in pivotal roles.
