Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer "ABCD 2" is nearing the ₹100 crore mark at the box office, while new releases had a dismal opening.
ABCD 2
Maintaining strong hold at the box office, "ABCD 2" (Any Body Can Dance 2) earned approximately ₹1.01 crore on third Friday. The overall box office collection of "ABCD 2" has reached to ₹98 crore.
The dance film will cross the ₹100 crore mark by third weekend as it requires only ₹2 crore net income.
"#ABCD2 [Week 3] Fri 1.01 cr. Total: ₹ 98.05 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Guddu Rangeela and Second Hand Husband
Both the new releases had a poor opening day at the box office. "Guddu Rangeela" starring Arshad Warsi and Amit Sadh has received negative reviews, which reflected on its box office earning. The film, directed by Subhash Kapoor, earned approximately ₹1.5 crore on first Friday, Box Office India reports.
On the other hand, "Second Hand Husband" starring Govinda's daughter Tina Ahuja, Gippy Grewal and Geeta Basra raked in less than a crore.
The opening day box office collection of "Second Hand Husband" is approximately ₹50 to ₹60 lakh.
Both the films are not expected to show growth during the weekends. "ABCD 2" will get to dominate the market in its third week also due to the poor response the new films have received.
