Arya-Nayanthara's "Raja Rani" is still going strong at the box office despite new releases. The film recently completed its successful 25-day run and continues to fetch decent collections.
Atlee's "Raja Rani" has reportedly collected around ₹50 crore worldwide and has become the third highest grossing Tamil film of 2013, after "Vishwaroopam" and "Singam 2."
Directed by Atlee, "Raja Rani" has a huge star cast including Arya, Nayanthara, Jai, Nazriya Nazim, Sathanam and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. The romantic-comedy entertainer was received well by the audience and opened to a good response on its release. And despite a galore of Tamil releases, "Raja Rani" sustained its momentum and continued its good show at the box office. Even after 25 days, the film is still performing well in "A" centres.
Director Atlee has won accolades for giving out an impressive film that entertains the audience. Several celebrities including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Shankar and AR Murugadoss have also appreciated the director's work. The film is all set to be screened at the 15th edition of the Mumbai Film Festival on 24 October.
The Arya starrer has created a flutter in social media circles ever since the film went on the floors. Be it the innovative promotions, the trailer and the songs, the film has set a positive pre-release buzz. Positive word of mouth, post the film's release has really helped it to rake in good collections.
With no big releases till next week, "Raja Rani" is expected to continue its good run in theatres. But the release of Ajith's "Arrambam" and other Diwali biggies might affect "Raja Rani" and its business might get closed soon.
