Allu Arjun-Shruti Haasan's "Race Gurram" is all set to become the biggest earner of 2014 (so far) by beating Ram Charan's "Yevadu" collections.
"Race Gurram" has minted over ₹43 crore in two weeks at the worldwide box office. The film took a fantastic opening in its first weekend and continued to perform well in its opening week. The Allu Arjun starrer is still going rock steady at the end of the second week. Its two-week collections stand at ₹43.45 crore, according to Andhraboxoffice. The film will be entering the list of all time top 10 worldwide shares soon. "Race Gurram" is currently in the 11th spot in the list and is expected to surpass Ram Charan's "Racha" collections (₹45 crore) in a day or two. The family entertainer is likely to beat "Yevadu" lifetime collections, which amount to ₹47.1 crore, and emerge as the biggest earner of this year.
It remains to be seen if the film will be able to enter the ₹50-crore club. Allu Arjun has two films in the ₹40-crore club - "Julayi" and "Race Gurram." If the Surender Reddy directorial crosses the ₹50-crore mark, it will be the stylish star's first film to achieve that feat. The success of "Race Gurram" should bring in respite for Allu Arjun, whose last film failed to set the cash registers ringing. The actor will be next seen in Trivikram's film that went on floors recently.
On the other, Shruti Haasan is continuing her dream run at the box office. Ever since "Gabbar Singh" turned out to be a big hit, the actress has been having a successful run in the Telugu film industry with many of her films including "Yevadu", "Balupu" and "Race Gurram" becoming box office hits. The pretty actress, who has proved to be a lucky star for mega heroes, is expected to work with Mahesh Babu in his next film. However, there is no official confirmation on the same.
