The film has turned out to be Balakrishna's biggest hit in the US. The mass, masala entertainer earned more than $88,000 from Thursday (27 March) premiers.
The performance of the Balakrishna starrer improved with each passing day in the US. "Legend" earned $103,000 on Friday (28 March) and $121,000 on Saturday (29 March). The film's three-day collections including the Thursday premiers stand at over $312,000, according to Jeevi, editor and reviewer of idlebrain.
"Legend continues it's streak in the USA. 88.5 (thu)+103(fri)+121(sat)=312.5k USD so far. Just reported figure," Jeevi tweeted.
The action entertainer opened to positive response in theatres worldwide. On the first day of its release, "Legend" earned ₹6.9 crore (share) from Andhra Pradesh/Nizam area, according to Andhraboxoffice website. The film continued to perform well on the second day with most of the major centres witnessing housefull. However, there was a dip in the film's collections on Saturday.
As per the early estimates, "Legend" is expected to have earned a possible share of ₹3 crore from Telugu states on the second day, the website reported.
The film's opening weekend collections are expected to be more than ₹13 crore share from AP/Nizam area.
The Balakrishna starrer is expected to perform well in the coming days till 4 April, as Mohan Babu-Manchu Vishnu's "Rowdy" hits the screens. It remains to be seen if the film will affect the business of "Legend."
Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, "Legend" has Balakrishna appearing in dual roles. Sonal Chauhan, Radhika Apte, Jagapathi Babu and Brahmanandam play significant roles in the film.
"Legend," reportedly made on a budget of ₹35 crore, is produced by 14 Reels Entertainment.
