Tigmanshu Dhulia's "Bullett Raja" has failed to entertain mass audiences in theaters worldwide. The film starring Saif Ali Khan, Jimmy Shergill and Sonakshi Sinha was majorly affected in overseas market, due to censor rating and in India it failed to draw moviegoers' attention.
The film, which was expected to take single screens by storm, witnessed a drop in its business on the first Monday. The opening weekend collection of the film was quite low as well.
The film raked in ₹23.3 crore from opening weekend and around ₹3.5 crore from Monday, taking its overall total to ₹26.8 crore. The hardcore masala entertainer has performed well in north circuits including Delhi, UP, Bihar and other areas.
Delhi and UP circuits registered least drop in its collections and the earnings of the two areas were better than that of Mumbai.
Internationally too, the film failed to show growth in its collection. In its opening weekend overseas, "Bullett Raja" minted over ₹5.68 crore ($ 912,257).
"#BullettRaja was affected by the censor rating [15+] in major international markets, hence lost out on the crucial family audience," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
While "Bullett Raja" was affected due to censor rating, previously released films "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" and "Singh Saab The Great" also have performed below the mark in international market.
"Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Imran Khan and Shraddha Kapoor has managed to take its 10 days overseas total to ₹11.12 crore ($1.79 million). The film failed to generate box office earnings in India and overseas market.
Sunny Deol starrer "Singh Saab The Great" overseas business remained poor in second week. The overseas total of the film after second weekend is just ₹3.61 crore ($ 580,000).
Meanwhile, "Bullett Raja" is expected to maintain momentum at the box office until the release of "R... Rajkumar," which stars Sonakshi Sinha and Shahid Kapoor.
