Tamil film "Arrambam" is still going strong in its third week, despite new releases.
Although the recently released "Pizza 2: Villa" is accommodating maximum number of screens, "Arrambam" is still screened in several multiplexes across Tamil Nadu. The Ajith starrer is all set to surpass the 20-day mark in another two days.
The film has done excellent business not just in India but also in overseas markets, including the US, the UK, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. According to AndhraBoxOffice, "Arrambam" has reportedly grossed over ₹75 crore at the worldwide box office.
The film is a big hit in the US, where it surpassed collections of other Tamil hit films, including "Thuppakki", "Singam 2" and "Thalaivaa." The Ajith starrer is the fifth highest grossing Tamil film in the US, next to "Endhiran", "Vishwaroopam", "Sivaji" and "Dasavatharam."
The action-entertainer is also doing well in Malaysia, which is one of the key overseas markets for Tamil films. Recently, it crossed the $1 million mark at the Malaysian box office and continues to rake in good collections. The film is performing better than "Krrish 3", which is Bollywood's highest grosser.
"Arrambam" performance in the UK and Karnataka has been really good. The film has also done good business in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, where the Ajith starrer has been declared a big hit. The Telugu-dubbed version of the film titled "Aata Arrambam" is all set to hit the screens on 28 November. Despite a delayed release, the film is expected to get a good opening at the Andhra Pradesh box office.
The film is likely to get hit by a new release next week. Arya-Anushka's "Irandam Ulagam" will have a massive worldwide release on 22 November. The fantasy-thriller might affect "Arrambam" collections.
