Ram Gopal Varma's "Veerappan" and Anurag Kashyap's "Raman Raghav 2.0" were already scheduled to clash at the box office in May. But now, Pooja Bhatt's "Cabaret" will also fight with the two thriller movies at the box office.
"Veerappan" and "Raman Raghav 2.0" are set to be released on May 27, 2016. On the other side, Pooja Bhatt's upcoming production venture "Cabaret" was earlier supposed to hit the screens on May 6 this year but its release has been postponed to May 27.
While both "Veerappan" and "Raman Raghav 2.0" are based on real-life characters, "Cabaret" is of a completely different genre. Ram Gopal Varma's "Veerappan" is the story of a notorious dacoit, who was one of the most wanted criminals of India. Anurag Kashyap's "Raman Raghav 2.0" is based on a serial killer in Mumbai who had created panic in the entire city during mid-1960s.
However, Richa Chaddha starrer "Cabaret" is a film revolving around the theme of dance and it will present the actress in a quite bold avatar. The movie also apparently has a couple of steamy scenes. The move to change the release date of "Cabaret" is apparently influenced by Sunny Leone's upcoming movie "One Night Stand." Release date of "One Night Stand" has been changed to May 6 from May 29, following which "Cabaret" has also been pushed to May 27. Hence, May 27 this year will witness box office clash of three Bollywood movies and it will be interesting to see which one stands on top.
Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap's "Raman Raghav 2.0," featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal, will be screened at Cannes 2016, which will start from May 11.
