This Dussehra festival period, cinema lovers will witness a box office clash between two big films at AP/Telangana region.
Hrithik Roshan's "Bang Bang" is all set to lock horns with Ram Charan's "Govindudu Andari Vaadele" ("GAV") in October.
"Bang Bang" is all set to release on 2 October in three languages, including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. There is huge positive buzz surrounding the film and makers are planning to have a wide release for the Roshan starrer.
Ram Charan's "GAV" will be releasing a day prior to "Bang Bang" on 1 October. The family drama, directed by Krishna Vamsi, is one of the most-eagerly awaited Telugu films of 2014. The film has Kajal Aggarwal playing the heroine role, while Prakash Raj and Srikanth are also part of the cast. The family drama is produced by Bandla Ganesh under Parameswara Art Productions banner.
With no big Telugu releases, "GAV" is expected to take a good opening on the first day of its release. However, Charan starrer might face strong competition from Hrithik's "Bang Bang" as the actor has a good fan following in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.
Some of Hrithik's films have done exceptionally well at the AP box office. The actor's superhero flick "Krrish 3" reportedly registered the highest collection for any dubbed Hindi film in its opening week in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The film collected ₹14.53 crore in its first week in AP and TN, according to Times of India.
Hrithik's "Dhoom 2" and "Krrish" also performed well at the box office. There are huge expectations for "Bang Bang," touted to be an action thriller flick. The film's teaser and the songs have created a lot of hype surrounding the project. It is expected to take grand openings not just in northern circuits but also in south India, including TN and AP, although it will be clashing with some big regional films slated to release around the same time.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, "Bang Bang" has Katrina Kaif as the female lead. The film also has Danny Denzongpa, Jaaved Jaffrey, Jimmy Shergill and Pawan Malhotra in supporting roles. The action entertainer is produced by Fox Star Studios.
