"AD" minted a 30-day share of ₹4.98 crore from Guntur and ₹3.54 crore from the Krishna area. Its collections from Nellore are pegged at ₹2.47 crore, while West Godavari has contributed ₹3.21 crore. "AD" East Godavari figures stand at ₹3.91 crore, according to AndhraBoxOffice.
With Diwali nearing, "AD" screen count is likely to decline in a bid to accommodate new releases. This might affect the film's collections, but the Pawan Kalyan starrer has already been declared a blockbuster.
The film has turned into a massive hit, creating several records in India as well as the US. The family entertainer has earned over ₹55 crore share in four weeks at the Andhra Pradesh box office. It raked in ₹5.22 crore share from Karnataka, while its collections from other Indian states are pegged at ₹1.50 crore.
"AD" did extraordinary business in the US minting around ₹7 crore. It fetched ₹1.20 crore from the rest of the countries where the film was screened. The Pawan starrer is the second highest grossing (share) Telugu film next to "Magadheera". It remains to be seen if the film will be able to break the record set by the Ram Charan starrer.
Interestingly, the makers of "AD" have decided to add extra scenes in the film to get repeat audience. It is not clear as to when the scenes will be added.
"AD" is the second film in which Pawan Kalyan and director Trivikram Srinivas have teamed up after their 2008-hit flick "Jalsa". The actor-director duo has proved to be a successful team, as both their films have done good business at the box office. The possibility of a third project might not happen in the near future as Pawan is already committed to work in "Gabbar Singh 2", which is likely to commence in December.
