The second batch of "Bombay Velvet" posters spelled charm, and was surely a perfect precursor to the the trailer, which was released on Thursday morning.
Capturing the finer details of a rusty Bombay, Anurag Kashyap proved yet again why he's one of the best in the movie-making business. Ranbir Kapoor's Johnny Balraj act is supreme, but what's more drawing is his infectious chemistry with seductive jazz singer Rosie Noronha (Anushka Sharma). Karan Johar's calculative Kaizad Khambatta too stands out.
What can be gathered from the trailer is Johnny wishes to be a 'big shot' and doesn't mind risking lives in his journey to become the city's most important man. The retro look and feel is as spot on as it can get, and the sets reek of old world charm.
Director Anurag Kashyap shared the trailer on Twitter urging the followers to put on their headphones for 'maximum impact'. Not very surprisingly, #BombayVelvet is already trending on the micro-blogging site and fans are raving about it.
