Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" is one of the most-anticipated films this year. After the release of the trailer that created a huge buzz, the makers on Friday, unveiled the first song of the film.
Titled "Fifi", the song is set in 1960s and features lead actors Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar. "Fifi" is a queer number and is picturised on Anushka's character Rosie, an aspiring jazz singer. She is seen lip-syncing to the new version of Geeta Dutt's iconic song "Jaata Kahan Hai Diwane" from the Dev Anand-Waheeda Rehman starrer "CID".
The "NH10" actress looks every inch of a beautiful vintage Jazz singer.
The video also depicts the budding romance between Johnny Balraj (played by Ranbir) and Rosie amid the gunshots and violence in the city.
"Bombay Velvet" is based on famous book "Mumbai Fables" and is set in 1960s. The film narrates the story of a street fighter Johnny Balraj and the transformation of the Bombay city into becoming one of the biggest metropolis of the country.
The film marks the acting debut of filmmaker Johar in a negative role and features Kay Kay Menon, Vivaan Shah and Raveena Tandon in important roles.
Produced by Fox Star Studios, Vikas Bahl and Vikramaditya Motwane, "Bombay Velvet" is slated to hit theatres on 15 May.
The song "Fifi" was shared by Fox Star Hindi on the official Facebook page.
