Bollywood has been bitten by the remake bug over the past few years. And its obsession continues to grow as we always come across a song that has been remade from the old chartbusters that are still very fresh in the hearts and the minds of the audiences. However, the formula of remaking
doesn't come with a 'hit' tag. While some remade songs top the blockbuster list, some lie down deep inside the dark tunnel.
As we are just 13 days away from bidding adieu to the year 2017, let's revisit the remade songs that became successful and those which were lost in the midst of nowhere.
Hits
Laila Main Laila
If there was any remake song that became an instant rage among the fans, then you just can't think of any other song than Laila Main Laila from Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees featuring Bollywood's Baby Doll Sunny Leone. The song retained its original tune and some part of the lyrics which was overlaid by upbeat music. Sunny Leone, who stepped into the shoes of the sensual Zeenat Aman who rocked the 80s with her massive sex appeal, lived upto the mark of the yesteryear actress and added zing to the energetic song with her popular pelvic thrusts. Sunny totally owned this song and moviegoers will surely remember Sunny Leone as the one and only Laila after Zeenat Aman.

Tamma Tamma Again
Another remake song that made it to the playlist of music lovers, it was none other than Tamma Tamma Again from Badrinath Ki Dulhania featuring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. The song's original tune, lyrics and voice of singers Bappi Lahiri and Anuradha Paudwal, even the dance
choreographed by Saroj Khan remained untouched which was one of the most intelligent things that was ever done in a remade song. Additional rap and heart thumping beats were added to the song to turn it into a party anthem and the attempt was a successful one. The original Tamma
Tamma song from Thanedaar (1990) featured Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit.

Maine Tujhko Dekha
In this Golmaal Again song, which is a recreated version of Neendh Churayi Meri from Ishq (1997), Ajay Devgn tries to woo Parineeti Chopra. While the song was loved by the audiences which took them down the memory lane, it was mired in controversies with music composer Anu Malik for not giving due credits for the composition. However, the description in the YouTube video does that. The song, which is a direct lift from Sending All My Love by Linera, lived upto the expectations of the music lovers.

Haseeno Ka Deewana
The song is the remake of the iconic song Saara Zamana from Yaarana (1981) which was orginally sung by the legendary singer Kishore Kumar featuring the megastar Amitabh Bachchan who introduced the use of LED lights over a costume and danced to the tunes of the song like a rockstar. The remade song featured the bombshell Urvashi Rautela who tried to turn on the heat with her sensuous moves. The song, however, fell short of the expectations but became quite popular among the masses.

Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast
The blockbuster song Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast from 1994 film Mohra has remained one of the favourite songs among the music lovers who still dance to the tunes of it. No one can match the kind of intensity that Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon have put in this song with their
unmistakable moves and expressions. This iconic song was ruined completely when the makers of Machine decided to make a remix the song and use it in their movie. It was one of the disastrous songs of the year.
