The year 2016 witnessed many good and critically acclaimed Bollywood films. While many did an average business at the box office, some entered the Rs 100 crore club and went on to collect massive numbers at the box office.
Here are the Bollywood films that crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in 2016:
Sultan: The Salman Khan-starrer took just three days to enter the Rs 100 crore club. The film, which revolved around Salman's character who is a wrestler, went on to gross more than Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office. It is the highest grosser of the year.
M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story: The Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer entered the prestigious club in nine days. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is about the journey of Dhoni and collected Rs 131.43 at the Indian box office.
Rustom: It is a crime drama, inspired by real-life murder case involving naval officer KM Nanavati that took place in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1959. Like M.S.Dhoni: The Untold Story, this film starring Akshay Kumar, took nine days to cross the Rs 100 crore mark.
Airlift: Akshay-starrer took 10 days to enter the century club. Its lifetime collection stands at Rs 129 crore at the Indian box office.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil: Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma's film crossed Rs 10crore in 12 days. It's also director Karan Johar and Aishwarya's first film to enter the prestigious club.
Shivaay: Ajay Devgn-starrer although had a slow start, gradually picked up and managed to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in 31 days of its run at the theatres.
