Bollywood dancer Abhijeet Shinde has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling at his residence in Mumbai on Thursday morning.
According to Mumbai police, Shinde, who was suffering from depression ever since his wife left him, apparently ended his life as she didn't allow him to meet their daughter over the past few years.
"Shinde's wife had been living at her mother's place since the past three months. She was not allowing Shinde to meet their two-year-old daughter, which upset him badly. He had been depressed over the past few days," a police officer told Mumbai Mirror.
As the flat's door was open, a few neighbours found Shinde hanging from the ceiling. Police suspect that the dancer took his own life at around 6.30 am.
However, a note was found near the spot which said that the money in his bank account should go to his daughter.
"We registered an accidental death report and handed over the body to the deceased's family members after conducting a postmortem," Ramesh Khade, senior inspector of Bhandup, was quoted as saying by the daily.
Shinde has worked with the likes of Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn, Prabhudeva and others.
