Veteran actor Vinod Khanna breathed his last on April 27 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 70. His body was cremated at Worli on Thursday at 5 p.m. Several celebs like Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan joined the last rite.
The Bollywood actor was hospitalised in the beginning of the month. Earlier, reports suggested he was recovering and was hospitalised due to severe dehydration. It was also said that he would be discharged soon.
Speculations flew after an emaciated picture of him from the hospital ward went viral. However, the family members denied the cancer rumours at the time.
Vinod Khanna, an active politician, was last seen in Rohit Shetty's Dilwale in 2015, which starred actors Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. He will be next seen in Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi alongside Hema Malini.
As soon as the news of the veteran actor's death broke, tributes from the film fraternity poured in who expressed grief at the loss of Bollywood. Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Rajinikanth, Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Irrfan Khan paid their tribute to Vinod Khanna on Twitter.
