Star plus hit show "Diya Aur Baati Hum", with its lead actors Sandhya (Deepika Singh) and Suraj (Anas Rashid), has been entertaining viewers by introducing twists and turns.
With the high-voltage drama continuing to rule the TRPs, the makers are planning to introduce an interesting plot in the show – a Kabbadi track – for which they are hunting for an actor, who would play the coach.
The buzz is that Bollywood actor Jimmy Sheirgill has been approached, according to an IANS report.
Jimmy is apparently in talks with the makers, and if the deal is sealed, the "Mohabbatein" actor will be seen on the small screen soon.
Reports suggest that Jimmy's role will be a short one, involving shooting for around a month. The Kabaddi track of the popular daily show will go on air from mid-May.
There were also reports that Riddh Dogra, who was last seen in "Khatron Ke Khiladi 6", has been roped in to essay the role of the Kabaddi team owner.
Meanwhile, in "Diya Aur Baati Hum", Suraj is trying hard to prove that he is a loving father to spoilt son Ved, who is ashamed of his father's profession. Ved lies to his friends, claiming his father is a big-shot, but ends up getting flak for it. Suraj feels dejected after realising his son doesn't respect him.
This compels Suraj to think of making it big, by venturing into hotel business and shut down his sweet shop for good.
