Rohit Shetty's romantic comedy film "Bol Bachchan" is still doing well both at the domestic as well as overseas box office even three weeks after its release.
Now, the movie is all set to cross ₹ 1 billion mark and join the elite club. With right mix of comedy, romance and action, the movie has been ruling the box office for the first two weeks and is still going strong in its third week.
"Bol Bachchan" opened with mixed reviews but picked up later at the box office. It has successfully collected ₹ 986.6 million in its third week.
"#BolBachchan *Week 3* Mon Rs 91 lacs. Total: Rs 98.66 cr nett," Trade analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh tweeted on Tuesday.
Now the movie is just ₹13.4 million away to reach the ₹ 1 billion mark.
"#BolBachchan remained strong in Weekend 3, garnering good collections from the mass belt. Collected Rs 6.82 cr nett in Weekend 3," Adarsh tweeted on Monday.
"#BolBachchan breakup for Weekend 3: Fri 1.36 cr, Sat 2.25 cr, Sun 3.21 cr. 17-day total: Rs 97.75 cr nett. Hit," he added.
Earlier, when Homi Adajania's "Cocktail" was released, it affected the business of "Bol Bachchan" at both Indian and overseas market. But the movie successfully managed to regain its position at the BO.
Trade analyst expected Bol Bachchan to cross ₹ 1 billion marks in second week itself, but the collection got affected y new releases. The flick in the second week was expected to collect approximately ₹ 330 million, but it scored only ₹ 241 million.
Cocktail in its opening week was going exceptionally well at some multiplexes, but did not fare well at single screens where Bol Bachchan is still ruling.
The movie starring Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan collected ₹ 241 million in the second week, taking the total to Rs 909 Million nett in week 2.
"#BolBachchan collected approx ₹ 24.12 cr nett in Week 2, taking the 2-week total to approx ₹ 90.93 cr nett," Adarsh tweeted.
If the movie joins the elite group than it will be Abhishek's first movie to cross ₹ 1 billion in his acting career.
