German car-maker BMW's Indian subsidiary kick-started xDrive Experience, an event to showcase the off-road prowess of their SUVs in May. After the Kochi edition, the xDrive experience has now come to Bengaluru. The Garden City edition of the off-road event is being held on June 3 and 4 at Wild Retreat Adventure Club, Shanbhoganahalli village, Bannerghatta South.

The xDrive experience introduces off-roading potentials of the flagship X5, X3 and X1 SUVs. The participants will get hands-on experience of the off-road capability of the SUVs in a specially made track, under the guidance of internationally certified BMW trainers. The obstacles in the course include, steep uphill, downhill, boulder section, slush pit and almost 30 degree tilts.
During the session, participants will get acquainted with the Hill Descent Control (HDC). It assists the driver with controlled descents of difficult slopes by maintaining a constant speed and applying braking. The driver's duty is to just leave foot off both the pedals and steer the SUV.
The xDrive technology is the highlight of BMW SUVs. It provides variable forces split between the front and rear wheel axles. The torque split is normally at 40:60 on the front and rear axles. But if wheel slip is detected, the xDrive can react within a millisecond to ideally distribute the vehicle's full torque to the front or rear axles. Participants will get enough time to understand the application of xDrive technology during the event.
"The BMW xDrive Experience demonstrates the capabilities of the intelligent BMW xDrive system in challenging outdoor environment. Customers will witness the agility, precision and safety of BMW Sports Activity Vehicles (SAVs) in a thrilling experience under the expert supervision of our certified driver trainers. The BMW xDrive Experience is the combination of the best automotive technology and driving pleasure, while pushing these vehicles to its performance limits," said Vikram Pawah, President, BMW Group India.
The BMW xDrive Experience will be hosted in 12 cities across India. After Bengaluru, the BMW xDrive Experience will be held in Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Delhi, Goa, Pune, Raipur, Kolkata and Mumbai.
