German luxury car maker BMW launched a new model of its X3 SUV in India at a starting price of ₹44.90 lakh.
New BMW X3 facelift, the SUV which first made its appearance at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show comes in two trims - xDrive 20d Expedition and xDrive 20d xLine and is available with only one engine option.
Under the hood, the car packs 2.0-litre, 1,995cc engine, which can churn out a power of 184 bhp and a peak torque of 380 Nm. The engine comes synchronised to ZF eight speed automatic gearbox and gets Eco Pro, Comfort and Sport modes for city and highway driving. The car can accelerate 0-100 kmph in 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 210 kmph and promises a fuel efficiency of 18.56 kmpl.
The new X3 model looks stylish in its design with new larger headlamps, BMW kidney grille along with ORVMs with side blinkers and stylish alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the car gets new leather upholstery, automatic boot-opener and piano black centre console.
The top end variant of X3 , xDrive 20d xLine, has been priced at ₹49.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and gets additional features like 18-inch alloys, leather steering wheel and other interior packages.
In India, BMW has recently launched its X5 SUV. The company first launched the top-end variant of X5 with a price tag of ₹70.9 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and later also introduced an entry-level variant of X5 for ₹64.9 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Under the hood, the BMW X5 packs 3-litre inline six-cylinder diesel motor, which can churn out 258PS of max power and a peak torque of 560Nm mated to ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. Offering a top speed of 250kmph, the new X5 can accelerate 0-100kmph in 6.9 seconds.
The base variant X5 Expedition comes with the same engine specifications of its top-end model, but misses out on features like 600W Harman Kardon system, BMW Apps, navigation system, 26cm infotainment display with DVD facility, hard-drive storage, handwriting recognition, sports gearbox, paddle shifters, electric seat lumbar support and LED headlights and foglights
