A lot has already been written about the upcoming motorcycle the G 310 R from the German bike maker BMW Motorrad. BMW G 310 R has already made numerous appearances on the web through spy shots and videos, and sometimes also straight from the auto shows. However, what is actually left to see is the price tag of the model.
If the latest reports are anything to go by, the G 310 R is likely to get a price starting at Rs. 1.8 lakh. The bike will be launched in India in October, reports Auto car India. BMW G 310 R is currently in its testing phase in the country.
The motorcycle, jointly developed by Indo-German alliance BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company, will be manufactured at the TVS Motor facility in Tamil Nadu. It is the first BMW motorcycle to be made in India and also the first to be manufactured outside Europe.
At the heart of the G 310 R is an all-new 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves and two overhead camshafts, together with electronic fuel injection. It can churn out a power of 33.5bhp at 9,500rpm and maximum torque of 28Nm at 7,500rpm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. It employs a 300mm disc brake at the front, and 240mm at the rear. It features front upside down forks and mono shock suspension at the rear.
In terms of dimensions, it measures 1988mm in length, 896mm in width, 1227mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1374mm. The G 310 R made its India debut at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. In India, the BMW G 310 R will be pitted against KTM Duke 390 and Mahindra Mojo.
