After launching the 320i, the petrol version of the 3-Series in India, German luxury car-maker BMW has expanded its 5-series with the petrol-powered 520i. The BMW 520i has been priced at Rs. 54 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Now available both in petrol and diesel engine versions, the latest addition in the BMW 5 Series sedan lineup will be brought to India as Completely Built Unit (CBU). To be offered only in the Luxury Line trim, the 520i comes powered by a TwinPower turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine that also does duty in the 320i. The engine can pump in 184bhp of power and a maximum torque of 270Nm at 1,350 to 4,600rpm and comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 233 kmph.
The BMW 520i comes with features like adaptive LED headlamps and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the petrol-powered model gets a multifunction instrument display, 600w Harman Kardon audio system with 16-speakers and 10.2-inch colour display infotainment system. It features Eco Pro driving mode, engine start-stop function, rear view camera and more.
The BMW 520i is available in Alpine white, black sapphire and imperial blue body shades. In India, the BMW 520i takes on the likes of Mercedes E200 and Audi A6 35 TFSI.
