Launched in two variants -- Prestige and Luxury line -- the new BMW 320i will be brought to India as CBU (Completely built-up unit). While the Prestige has been priced at Rs. 36.90 lakh, the Luxury line is available for Rs. 42.70 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). BMW 320i comes in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, and Imperial Blue colours. There is also Jatoba metallic paintwork exclusively available for the BMW 320i Luxury Line.
Powering the 320i is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, TwinPower turbo petrol engine, which can pump in 184bhp of power and a maximum torque of 270Nm at 1,350 to 4,600rpm. The engine comes mated to eight-speed automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 235 kmph.
It features auto start-stop, brake-energy regeneration, intelligent lightweight construction, iDrive infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, electronic power steering and Park Distance Control (PDC).
BMW had discontinued the petrol variant of the 3-series in India in 2015. The diesel 320d is available in four trim levels -- Prestige, Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport — and is locally being produced in Chennai.
