German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the mildly facelifted avatar of the 3 Series GT at Rs 43.30 lakh, ex-Delhi, for the base Sport Line diesel (320d) variant. While the new version is also available in Luxury Line diesel priced at Rs 46.50 lakh, the newest addition is the Luxury Line petrol (330i) priced at Rs 47.50 lakh.
The new version comes with a standard-fitted LED headlights and LED front foglamps. The headlight cluster with adaptive LEDs is offered as an optional feature. The front and rear bumpers are now tweaked with larger air vents. The LED rear lights gets striking clear lines in line with the one seen in the new 7 Series. It is complemented by a newly designed rear apron and larger-diameter exhaust tailpipes. The changes in the interior are minimal and notable additions are chrome around the controls, and new decorative wood panels and leather trim options.
The new 3 Series GT is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel mill that develops 189bhp at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque in the range of 1,750-2,500rpm mated to eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW claims this diesel mill powers new 3 Series GT to reach 0 to 100kmph in 7.7 seconds. The petrol variant (330i) gets a 2.0-litre motor that develops 250bhp at 5,200rpm and 350Nm between 1,450-4,800rpm. The petrol mill requires just 6.1 seconds breaching 100kmph speed.
"The BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo established a new vehicle concept in segment and became trailblazer with its unique and modern character. It serves up its blend of luxury class elegance, sportiness and speciousness in more sophisticated form," said Frank Emanuel Schloeder, president (acting), BMW Group India.
