BMR Advisors on Tuesday announced the induction of five new partners based out of the firm's NCR and Mumbai offices. The firm promoted these partners through its performance management system.
The partners are Anand Laxmeshwar in the Transaction Tax practice in Mumbai, and from the NCR office, Sumit Singhania in the corporate international tax practice and Saurabh Kanchan in the Indirect Tax practice. Lokesh Malik has been promoted to partner in the Mergers and Acquisitions practice and Harkishan Bhatia takes the role of partner in the firm's Risk & Advisory practice.
Anand Laxmeshwar brings in over 14 years' of experience specialising in transaction specific tax advisory services, with specific focus on real estate and infrastructure industries, while Sumit Singhania specialises in corporate & international tax and has more than 12 years of experience in advising multinationals and Indian businesses.
Singhania's experience lies in wide range of matters including double taxation avoidance agreements, transaction tax, exchange control, and tax policy advocacy endeavors advising EU based clients, in general and French clients in particular.
Saurabh Kanchan comes in with over 14 years of experience in advising several multinational organizations and large projects in relation to transaction flows and contracting structures, state financial incentives, dispute resolution, financial modelling and strategy.
His induction will strengthen the firm's Indirect tax practice in the GST era pushing up the firms national Indirect tax practice to 7 Partners. He has also been actively assisting clients on the GST transition across several industry verticals namely, energy, defense, infrastructure, automobiles and manufacturing.
Lokesh Malik has been with the firm since past 12 years with specializing in transaction tax and restructuring across multiple sectors with a keen focus on media & entertainment sector. Harkishan Bhatia, in Risk & Advisory practice has been in the firm for over 12 years of experience covering business advisory, fraud investigations, GST transition, process reviews, risk assessment, SOP development, SOX 404 compliance, internal financial controls and internal & management audits.
