The team that put up a united fight against the previous office bearer of Nadigar Sangam is apparently divided over Vishal's decision to contest the RK Nagar by-election. One of the key members of their group has resigned from an important position.
Ponvannan, the vice president of the actors' guild, has reportedly resigned from his position. He is reportedly upset with Vishal for breaking his promise. The team members had mutually agreed to keep politics out of the council.
Vishal had called the 5-member group 'Pandavar Ani', that comprises Nasser, Ponvanan, Karunas and Karthi, to fight against Sarath Kumar's administration in Nadigar Sangam elections.
The latest development will come as a blow to Vishal, who is also under attack from a section of members of the Tamil Film Producers' Council. A few are up in arms against the president of the Tamil Film Producers' Council as his decision to contest the by-election might irk the ruling government.
Vishal took a surprise decision to contest the RK Nagar by-poll which was vacant after the death of J Jayalalithaa. He filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate before his application was rejected as the two of his 10 proposers backed out and alleged their signatures were forged.
Nonetheless, Vishal tried his best to contest the election, but his attempt went in vain as the proposers went missing after filing the complaint with regard to forged signatures.
