At least three people were killed and two injured after an oven in a bakery exploded around 5:30 a.m. in east Delhi's Khureji area on Thursday.
A senior police officer said that around 20 labourers were working at the bakery when the blast took place, the Hindu reported. Five of them who were inside the kitchen were hurt.
Officials from the bomb squad, fire department and police rushed to the spot on receiving information about the blast. Firefighters rescued the injured men, after which they were rushed to a nearby hospital. Three of them succumbed to their injuries, while the two injured are battling for their lives.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the blast.
The area has been cordoned off, according to local media reports.
