Several rumours regarding the fourth season of NBC's crime-drama "The Blacklist" have been surfacing on the internet lately, the most recent of which states that Liz Keen (Megan Boone) will find a new love interest after her marriage with Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) worsens, even though they have a kid now.
As reported by Celebrity Dirty Laundry, there might not be a happy ending for the couple in the upcoming season of the series. In an interview with the Entertainment Weekly, the show's co-executive producer John Eisendrath had hinted that the next season would showcase a realistic relationship between the couple.
John also said they were trying to keep the show as real as possible so the viewers could relate to it and understand the struggles and complexities of a bad marriage and its outcomes, especially when a kid is involved.
According to Christian Times, the upcoming "The Blacklist" spinoff series "The Blacklist: Redemption" will primarily feature Tom and his errands as he goes undercover, working as a spy for Susan "Scottie" Hargrave (Famke Janssen), who was revealed to be Tom's biological mother.
Since Tom will be mostly occupied with his spy duties, Eggold's character will rarely be present in the main series. Hence, he won't get much time to spent with his family in the upcoming season.
In an interview with the Today show, Eggold said the producers of the series are finding a way to make sure Tom's presence in the series remains insignificant, though he might appear in the episodes for comparatively lesser time.
