Waterloo based smartphone maker has officially launched the mid-range BlackBerry Z3 in India.
BlackBerry Z3 is the first smartphone to roll out of the Canadian company's joint venture with Chinese OEM (Original Equipment manufacturer) partner Foxconn. It was first unveiled in Indonesia in April and now it has set foot in the Indian market.
BlackBerry Z3 sports a 5.0-inch qHD (960 x 540p) display and ships with the newly updated OS (v10.2.1) powered by a 1.2GHz snapdragon dual-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics engine, 1.5GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt storage (expandable up to 32GB). It is backed by a 2,500 mAh battery (non-removable) which can run the device for up to 15.5 hours and close to 16 days under standby mode.
The mid-range BlackBerry smartphone comes packed with a 5.0-megapixel camera (with LED flash, 5 x digital zoom, image stabilization, and full HD video recording ability) and a 1.1-megapixel fixed-focus front camera. It also boasts of on-screen LED indicator, BlackBerry Maps (it provides 2D maps, local search and powerful 3D voice guided turn-by-turn directions) and the proprietary BlackBerry® Balance™ technology which enables users to have dedicated profiles to keep work and personal data separate and secure.
Touted to be the company's cheapest touch-screen smartphone, BlackBerry Z3 will hit stores on 2 July for ₹15,990 in India. Interested consumers can pre-book device pnline at The Mobile Store. It will be up against the popular Motorola Moto G, Micromax Canvas Turbo A250, Sony Xperia C, Xperia L, Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro, Lenovo P780 and many other brands.
