Even before BlackBerry Q10 could make an entry in the Indian market, popular online shopping portal Snapdeal has begun taking pre-orders for the much-anticipated smartphone for ₹1,000 as advance payment.
The website has failed to mention the actual price of the QWERTY phone, but revealed that the device will be released by the fourth week of May.
BlackBerry Q10 sports a 3.1-inch HD 328 ppi (pixels per inch) display with QWERTY keypad and it runs on the BlackBerry 10 OS powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor. It packs 2GB RAM and16GB internal memory which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
As of now, BlackBerry Q10 has been launched in the UK and in its home market Canada, and both markets registered huge sales of the smartphone. Corroborating the facts, Peter Misek, senior analyst at Jefferies and Company had said, "Based on our store checks, the BlackBerry Q10 has been selling extremely well and has been sold out or seeing limited availability in Toronto and across the UK."
Considering the initial sales of BlackBerry's touch screen Z10 smartphone during February and March in India, the company can expect Q10 to also receive good response especially from the corporate sector.
